Now the critical path template is something that should be given to all project managers, regardless if they are struggling with their time management or not. Why? Because there are many times and circumstances where the project might lead to a lot of problems or may have contracted some sort of setbacks or major difficulties. Through this, project managers can be well prepared if problems such as these pop out all of a sudden. By utmost preparation and readiness, project managers will be able to push back other tasks that might not be so important while highlighting the majorly important ones, the ones that should be done immediately and without any further distractions. That’s why you should have one of these templates just in case the worse turns to expected.

The critical path template may have a very difficult structure to understand, mostly because there are lot of information regarding numbers that should be inputted. Because of this, you might be highly discouraged but don’t be because this template is highly needed in times of desperate need. You will be given a lot of space provided in order to be able to cope up with a lot of tasks that are due in short time. That’s one of the main reasons why it’s called ‘critical path’ because you have to know which templates are in need to be done critically. In the table itself, you’ll be given details regarding the ID number, the activity, the predecessors, details regarding the time and availability, the duration, the early start, early finish, late start, late finish, the slacking time and whether or not that task is heading for the critical path or not. Also, you are provided with a graphical representation about whether or not your tasks are finished and etc. This is highly important because some people need to see how vitally close the project managers are to finishing the project or not. There is also a second sheet meant solely for information regarding the holidays because this greatly affects the performance of the project.
